The celebrations in honor of Nossa Senhora do Fetal, are a unique event in the country. These festivities take place in Reguengo do Fetal, a few minutes from Batalha.

The highlight of the festivities are the night processions, where thousands of snail shells light the streets of the procession to the Parish Church.

Every year the population gathers efforts to collect the snail shells that are then soaked in olive oil and a cotton twist is placed inside.
