Ducal Palace
At the end of the Plaza Mayor is the former residence
of the Dukes of Zúñiga, built under the ancient
Medieval Castle during the 16th century.
It was the first of its kind.
Inside the Palace you can visit the Renaissance
courtyard, with its galleries and arches encrusted with shields andthe initials of D. Francisco de Zúñiga and Dona Guiomar de Mendonza.
From the original palace few features of the time
remain, in turn the remains of the main
entrance of the citadel are preserved, giving a primitiveidea to this fortress.
Its main façade also retains the traces of the time,
present in the windows, in the blue and white tiles and in the cornices and shields that decorate the palace.
