Mount Palace Tropical Garden
A fabulous garden with an area of 70,000 m2, it stands out for its collection of exotic plants from all over the world, elegant tile panels and a museum with galleries of sculptures and minerals.
In the central pond of the garden, you can also admire the beauty and majesty of the swans. As a natural habitat, these graceful animals prefer relatively shallow lakes and ponds.
Although they can currently be admired in Gardens around the world, black swans come from Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand and wild swans (white) originate from Iceland and Scandinavia.
One of the most interesting features of this garden is the existence of a large collection of tile panels placed along the sidewalks. Acquired by José Berardo, under the guidance of specialist Manuel Leitão, this collection is considered one of the largest and richest collections in the country after the Museu Nacional do Azulejo, grouping Hispanic-Moorish examples from the 15th and 16th century to contemporary panels.
